They were coined “Leaders of the New Cool” by Spin Fashion Magazine.

“Transmissions After Zero” is an exploration of the seminal 90’s rock band Brainiac, its creative force Tim Taylor and the tragedy they overcame.

In the mid 1990’s the Dayton, OH music scene was generating worldwide buzz from the influential indie rock being produced there. Arguably the most innovative was the band Brainiac, led by musical genius and charismatic front man Tim Taylor.

On the verge of signing a major label record deal Taylor was tragically killed in an auto accident leaving his family and band-mates to pick up the pieces.

The film features members of Brainiac, The Taylor family and a slew of musicians including Fred Armisen, Steve Albini, Matt Berninger, Buzz Osbourne, Cedric Bixler-Zavala, Melissa Auf der Maur, David Yow, Stuart Braithewaite, Eli Janney, and many others.

The documentary premiered at the 2019 SXSW FILM FESTIVAL and was also an Official Selection at The Oak Cliff Film Festival, The Cleveland International Film Festival, Doc ‘n Roll Film Festival and The Sydney Underground Film Festival among others.

Film Threat wrote “Seeing how the journey of making the movie reunited these old friends and helped them heal is inspiring… Stylish directing and amazing sound design”.

At-Large Magazine stated “Before you think that this is a documentary about yet another rock musician who died in his late twenties, think again. ‘Transmissions After Zero’ is essential to where we are at socially, culturally and creatively in 2019”.

Variety said “Transmissions After Zero chronicles Brainiac’s unlikely rise and subsequent fall with intelligence and humor.
